  • We’re off on a new adventure! - While we are a travel couple, we both have full time jobs; but we travel as often as we can. - Since Jamie works in education, we take a long (2 weeks at least) trip over the summer. - Then we take quick weekend trips throughout the rest of the year. - While we want to inspire you to make travel a priority, we fully understand that people have obligations. Um, we‘ve got them too. - But, don’t ever forget to discover what your home has to offer - that’s what we did on this date! - So, until we can travel full time, we will explore our world one weekend (and summer) at a time. - How often can you travel? Two weeks? More?
  • Marriage. The time he and I became us. But, even though we are an us now, we are also (still) individuals. This interdependence is what helps keep our marriage healthy. - He is the photographer, grill master, and travel organizer. He challenges me to do things that push me far beyond my comfort zone. - I am the romantic, t-shirt folder, and shoulder squeezer. I ask him to test out new foods and go to new places. - Together, we are cat parents to Charlie, movie watchers, and adventure seekers. - We go on dates but also hang out with friends alone. We share interests but have many that we don’t share. - We split all household tasks (except laundry bc he can’t do it). - We each have our roles but aren’t afraid mix things up or take things on. We’re flexible and compromise. - It keeps things healthy; it keeps us happy. - What keeps your marriage/relationship healthy?
  • Do you chase sunrises or sunsets? - We love both and, most often, see both. We wake up and it’s dark out most of the time. We sip our coffee while we watch the sun come up. It’s THE best part of our day, the slow morning minutes. - Tips for Waking Up? • Keep a bedtime routine. We go to sleep and wake up at the same time each day - even weekends!!! - The Night Before: • Workout. Working out gets Jamie tired each evening. • Drink. Sipping on a cocktail gets Adam nice and relaxed each night. - How to Get This Started: • Go to bed an hour earlier and set an alarm. • Plan super delicious breakfasts for motivation. - Do any of you wake up with the sun too?
  • It’s our wedding week! - What does this mean?? It means that we’ll be celebrating the two years we have been married!! - Our wedding was, to us (of course!), so perfect. We kept it super small, with just a few members of our loved ones there. - Fun facts about our wedding: • We got married during golden hour. • We wrote our own vows. • We invited eleven guests. • We had no speeches. • We had a cat crash our wedding. We loved it! - We also shared a first look. It was the most intimate, raw moment of the occasion, and we would not change it for the world. - For those planning their wedding, we fully recommend a first look.   • Up next, Adam! - Adam seeks out adventure travel. He loves to climb up to the tallest, most precarious spot so he can see the world from a different perspective. - He also loves luxe travel - and introduced Jamie to it. - Here are some other fun things about him: • He is a pharmacologist - a drug development scientist. • He grew up in Florida. • Water (ok, or vodka) is his drink of choice. • He seeks thrills: rollercoasters, slingshot rides, etc. • Family is his first priority, always. • Amazon Prime is an obsession...a real one! • He has his PhD. #gobulls • Cruising is his favorite mode of travel. • His dream destination is Antarctica. • He basically decorated the ENTIRE house; he has great taste. - Well, that’s the end of our intro posts! - In the future, we plan to ensure each post is a microblog, filled with info that you can use when exploring Orlando or some other destination. - Facts, tips, and more are things you can look forward to at Our Weekend Whims.
  • Up next, our logo! - Our Weekend Whims is the rebrand of Dreaming of Dior, Jamie’s former blog. The reason? Well, it comes down to one thing: I lost sight of what I wanted most. - Our Weekend Whims is the brand I wanted all along, and we’re doing this together. - So it’s official. We‘re a travel couple now! - A little bit about us: • We got married on June 7 in St. Lucia. • This year will be two years!! • Adam moved to Orlando three months after we met, & I moved to Orlando a few weeks after Adam did. • We are cat parents to Charlie, our little girl!! • We’re equally obsessed with her. • Adam and I both went to USF but didn’t meet while we were there. • Florida is our home but we want to move one day. • Our ultimate dream: to have more than one home, work remote, and travel full time. - For now, we will settle with inspiring our readers to learn about themselves and each other through travel.
