While Disney World isn’t Adam’s favorite place to be, we’ve been multiple times together. No, for those wondering, he does not have an annual pass with me; however, he did recently purchase a three day ticket (we spent one day at Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival) and we’ll be checking out some of our favorite parks. Since we want to make the best out of our experience (and yours too!), we’ve decided to share our FastPass recommendations.
the magical magic kingdom
The Haunted Mansion is one of our absolute favorite childhood rides. Even though it’s (obvi!) not scary, we love it just the same. And we’re always looking to see if we can grab a FastPass because this ride is super popular! Although, to be truthful, the wait isn’t that bad as the ride is constantly moving.
This indoor rollercoaster is such a classic. We love meandering through the line and heading up toward the launchpad. In fact, it was one of the first rollercoasters I ever went on as a child. Man, it’s such a great ride!
It’s such a fun little coaster – and I especially love it during Mickey’s Not-so-Scary, when it’s blacked out! It’s another one of our faves for this park, and I have to go on it each time I enter Magic Kingdom.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
While this and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are kind of similar, we love the seats that rock back and forth on this little rollercoaster; it adds a fun twist to it. Plus, riding through while singing along to Heigh Ho? There’s nothing better than that!
and if one of those is unavailable:
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Both of these rides are super fun – and we opted to put both because, usually, if one of the above is taken, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is taken too. When you go to grab your FastPasses, we hope you’re not met with a bunch of “currently unavailables”.
While we both prefer Toy Story Mania! to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, they’re both super fun rides for those that like arcade style rides!
the wild animal kingdom
Even though DINOSAUR might break down while you’re there (sorry Disney, we had to!), it’s a great ride! There’s nothing like going back in time, riding around in a remote-driven vehicle while being chased by dinos and racing the clock! Whew! It’s an amazing adventure of a ride!
Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
This is one of our favorite rollercoasters at the parks! I still remember when I used to be too afraid to ride it – haha, I was such a baby! Everest is great because it goes forwards and backwards, it’s outside and inside, and it’s got an amazing photo spot!
Oh, and the first time I rode it, I got a pin to commemorate the time that I was fearless! It was a cute little pin that I added to the lanyard I used to have. Now, I have no clue where it is!
The safari is such a fun experience, and it’s always different too! To be honest, we love riding this ride in the evening. We’ve found that some of the animals that are rarely seen (lions, we’re looking at you kids) might be around at this blue hour.
and if one of those is unavailable:
Avatar Flight of Passage
Now, we didn’t add Flight of Passage to our main list because we both suffer from motion sickness. People always told us that Flight of Passage was like a more intense version of Soarin’ Around the World. Well, it was true.
And it made us both feel a bit nauseous. Therefore, we’d opt to ride on Primeval Whirl. It spins a lot, which could get some a little sick after a day of drinking, but it isn’t as bad as Avatar for us!
the wondrous epcot
Oh Epcot; it’s such a fun place to eat and drink. With some new rides coming out soon, it’ll be a great park to visit. For now, it’s the place we like to go eat and drink. We’ll ride the rides but (other than Frozen for me!), it isn’t needed for us to have a good time here.
Frozen Ever After
While Adam will complain and state that the original ride in the Norway Pavilion was better, it’s legit the same ride. It’s just the theming that’s changed; and therefore, it’s the reason it still makes the list. Yes, it’s not fun for him to listen to me singing along to each song but he still likes to ride itself!
Now, the Frozen Ever After FastPass is in a group of four – and park-goers can choose one from the list of four. The other options are: Test Track, Soarin’ Around the World, and Epcot Forever (their new night show).
We opted for Frozen Ever After because: we choose single rider for Test Track; we head straight to Soarin’ Around the World right when we get there, which tends to be a shorter wait; we don’t mind watching the show from a spot that’s not “the front”.
This epic ride is one of the originals, and it always brings back memories. Our favorite part? The little virtual adventure at the end. Here’s our tip: make a funny face when the photo comes up! It makes the little adventure so much more fun!
Living with the Land
Truth be told, we love riding this ride. Meandering through Disney’s greenhouses is something so amazing. The way that they grow certain plants is so interesting. It’s a great, educational experience that’s fun for everyone. Here’s another tip: the Behind the Seeds tour is pretty cool. We enjoyed and think that, if you ever have time, you would too!
the starstruck hollywood studios
Toy Story Mania!
Just like last time, the Toy Story Mania! FastPass is in a group of four – and park-goers can choose one from the list of four. The other options are: Alien Swirling Saucers, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
We opted not to choose the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster because, if we go early enough, we don’t have to wait too long. And I refuse to go on Tower of Terror – it’s totes not for me!
Oh, but it’s important to note that this is where we differ, because Adam would have chosen: Tower of Terror.
Last, it’s important to note that we haven’t ridden on Alien Swirling Saucers so, truth be told, we don’t know if it’s the ride we would have chosen from the group.
Although we haven’t seen the new show at Epcot yet, Fantasmic! is a great show to watch; and it’s even better if you’re not all the way at the top, behind some tall man that decides to stand instead of sit. It’s def. one of our favorite shows to watch at the parks.
Voyage of The Little Mermaid
Yeah, it’s a show, but it’s a great show (and a great movie btw). It features puppets, movie clips, and (Adam’s fave part) lasers. It’s a great way to cool down during a hot summer day too!

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
Yeah, so this one ended up here because of that whole motion sickness thing. This ride, for sure, makes us both sick. It’s a super cool ride, and we like it, but it’s not worth it – not for us at least.
Disclaimer: While we state that certain FastPass experiences were in groups of four, it could be incorrect, as some popular experiences were unavailable and, therefore, we could not see if they were also within the group. We hope that our FastPass recommendations don’t affect your plans due to inaccuracies on our end.
